Reserving a Date

A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the date. This will be applied toward the final total bill. Your date will be penciled in from first contact as “your” date. You then have 30 days from the time a first menu proposal has been sent/received to confirm the date or the date will be open to other inquiries.

Payments

Final payment is due the week after your event unless prior arrangements have been made. Payment may be made in the form of cash or check.

Menu Selection

The guarantee is the number of people that we will prepare food for. We need the final "guaranteed" number of guests no less than 1 (One)-week before your event. You will be charged for the guaranteed number unless there are more guests than that number.

Taxes

5.3% Virginia sales tax and 4% Rockbridge County meals tax (9.3% total) will be added to all menu prices.

Staffing and Service

Staffing and service fee depends on a number of factors including but not limited to: the style of event, the number of guests, location, depth and breadth of food service and bar service, etc. An estimate can be given when event specifications are known. The cost per server/chef attendant/bartender is $20.00 per hour each. This includes up to 30 minute one way travel time. Beyond 30 minutes is subject to a travel time fee. A good rule of thumb is 1 server per 15 to 20 guests. Passed hors d’oeuvres, plated or family style meals will require more servers.

I do release servers and bartenders at the first opportunity saving the client when possible without compromising service.  Our staff is punctual, professional and very courteous. Many have been with CHEFS since our beginning in 2005.

Cake Cutting Fee

There is no cake cutting fee. We do not believe in nickel and diming our clients.

Leftover Food

Insurance and health department regulations prohibit us from allowing guests to take leftover food.

Rentals

CHEFS is more than happy to arrange rentals when necessary. This is done at no additional cost to you. It is one less thing for you to worry about and it enables us to make sure that all the items are accounted for. If you decide to coordinate the rentals on your own, it is understood that any shortages, overstocks or errors are the responsibility of the client. We have everything pertaining to food service and our own banquet tables and linens for food and bar service. Linens are fitted black or white.

Tastings

CHEFS will do a tasting if requested. Subject to availability. There is a per person charge for this service and is based on items selected (est-$25 per person). We will prepare as many of your selections as possible. Please limit the tasting to 6 (six) persons.

Food Allergies/Preferences

Please advise CHEFS in advance of any food allergies or preferences you or your guests may have.
